The Senior Power Systems Engineer is part of the Power Systems and New Product Platform Group and is responsible for defining next generation controller ICs and SiPs for Picor's power converters.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate new product ideas, features and specifications through analysis, simulation and testing
Convert new product ideas into specifications for use by IC or system designers
Bench test initial silicon or SiP products to prove capability and characterize performance
Write advance data sheets
Write theory of operation, design procedures or other documentation required to transfer support of new products to the Applications group
Assist or advise Design and Test groups as needed during product development
Support Marketing & Applications as required for successful implementation of new products at key customers
Recognize, develop and incorporate new intellectual property into Picor products
Propose new product ideas and product improvements
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 - 7 years experience as a power supply designer or power IC designer
Extensive knowledge of power system requirements and the power conversion market
Detailed knowledge of power conversion topologies, control and components
Ability to design, analyze and test power converters
Ability to evaluate integrated circuits
Competence with PSpice, SIMetrix/SIMPLIS, Altium or other simulation tools
