Vicor is expanding to vertically integrate core printed circuit board operations.  As such, we are seeking a candidate to assist in the transfer and ultimate integration of the operation. This role will require that the candidate spend the first 6-8 months offsite at a strategic partner in Charlestown, NH qualifying the processes and equipment to be run on Vicor product.  The candidate will then be responsible for managing the transition of the equipment and processes back to dedicated Vicor facility located in Andover, MA.

Responsibilities

Hot oil lamination

  • Manages  the day to day operations consisting of profile recipe development, lay-up constructions, press operation and maintenance
  • Responsible for coordinating the move of the Hot Oil cell from NH to Andover Ma including:
  • Press breakdown/packaging
  • Rigging/transportation
  • Setup in Andover Ma, calibration
  • Trains operators in Andover

Epoxy vacuum fill  

  • Equipment setup, buy-off and qualification of a horizontal vacuum fill machine (NH location).  Resolving any equipment related startup issues. 
  • Generation and implementation of all tooling to support vacuum filling
  • Day to day operations consisting of recipe development, process setup and qualification, procedure and quality check creation
  • Coordinating the move/logistics of the vacuum fill cell (similar to lamination) from NH to Andover, MA at the appropriate timing     

Inkjet Soldermask

  • Equipment setup, buy-off and qualification of a horizontal inkjet soldermask machine (NH location).  Resolving any equipment related startup issues. 
  • Generation and implementation of all tooling to support soldermask coating/registration
  • Day to day operations consisting of recipe development, process setup and qualification, procedure and quality check creation
  • Coordinating the move/logistics of the soldermask cell (similar to lamination) from NH to Andover Ma at the appropriate timing

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or Polymer Science.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years’ working in Printed Circuit Board Fabrication, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated capability in applying SPC, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, etc.
  • Solid skills in problem solving, statistics, manufacturing quality, and quality principles
  • Ability to successfully train production personnel
  • Ability to understand, analyze, and resolve complex technical problems
  • Ability to work independently and be effective in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent writing and organizational skills
