Vicor is seeking a technical contributor to its Product Management team. This self-motivated individual will ensure success in developing and driving high performance power module products world-wide in the automotive market segment. This individual should have a strong technical background along with a business acumen who is capable of gaining support and coordinating activities across a dynamic organization. This is a key leadership position within Vicor to drive new product initiatives within automotive.

Individual will be involved in all aspects of product development and management including:
Product definition – Define new product requirements and capability by leveraging internal technology advancements to customer requirements, industry trends, and competitive mapping. Establish product justification through review of development costs, revenue forecast, technical risk assessment, and development timeline.
Product development – Coordinate and align internal organizations for product development activity to product design goals, cost targets, and development schedule. Manage key product developments with engineering, operations, and product engineering. Work closely with regional sales/regional marketing teams on beta customers and early adopters to ensure design-in success. Drive critical product launch elements including datasheets, application notes, white papers, etc. Directly support customer program requirements from discovery to PPAP and (SOP) production.
Continuous improvement – Maximize customer product adoption driving product refinements, possible product derivatives, and new product roadmaps that supersede existing product performance. Support automotive sales team on product aspects and customer system designs. Drive cost reduction efforts and manage product life cycles.
Minimum Requirements
- Knowledge of analog and/or power integrated circuits and the application into the automotive industry
- Self-motivated with a proven track record in technical design or applications role
- Experience with automotive OEM and or tier-one suppliers
- BSEE or equivalent experience required, 5-10 yrs experience in the automotive industry
- Knowledge or past selling experience with DC/DC converters aimed at target applications: powertrain and chassis systems, AI platforms for level 3/4/5 vehicles, inverters, battery charging and BMS systems for EV, HEV, BEV, PHEV, Mild Hybrid vehicle platforms
- Familiarity with functional safety ISO 26262 standards, AECQ100, TS-16949 certification and the PPAP, SOP and safe launch process for automotive customers, powertrain architectures and chassis systems
