  • Using applicable Inspection criteria, inspect outgoing materials for acceptance to specified drawing requirements as required by the Pre-ship audit function.
  • Examines product for physical defects and quality of workmanship for conformity to Vicor standards.
  • Ability to rework product to conform to Vicor standards.
  • Effectively communicate quality issues, to the Quality Lead and/or Quality Manager, and Production Lead, as required.
  • Identifies and reports all process and product non-conformances.
  • Maintains all required logs and records.
  • Experience inspecting to IPC-A-610 (current revision) standards.
  • Communicates discrepancies to the appropriate management representative in order to ensure that all products meet customer specifications.
  • Interprets drawing symbols and uses simple math to calculate tolerances and apply to inspection duties.

Minimum Requirements

  • Quality control and part inspection experience required.
  • Must be at a Machine Operator II level or higher
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Vicor products.
  • One year electronics inspection experience is required.
  • IPC 610 certification preferred.
  • Must be able to interpret quality control specifications.
  • Solder rework experience a plus.
  • Must have the ability to work with hand tooling, such as screwdrivers, pliers, x-acto knives, dykes, tweezers, and other small tooling items.
  • Must have the ability to use a microscope for an extended period daily.  
  • Documentation management skills,
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Documentation management experience which requires good computer skills, including Outlook and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel are required.
