The European Space Agency’s Power Systems Division will present the 14th European Space Power Conference in Estoril, Portugal. This highly technical event will cover key aspects of electrical power for space applications, including power management, solar generators, energy storage and nuclear power.

Ken Coffman, Lead Applications Engineer, will present his paper on design methodology and experimental validation for input filters in redundant Vicor Sine Amplitude Converter (SAC)-based power distribution systems. His talk will cover the robust input filtering required in aerospace and LEO/MEO satellite applications. Vicor’s radiation-tolerant Sine Amplitude Converter (SAC) Bus Converter Modules (BCM) operate at switching frequencies near 1.5 MHz with unsynchronized, internally paralleled topologies that produce beat-frequency intermodulation and complex low-frequency envelope modulation.

Date: October 5 – 9, 2026

Presentation date and time:
October 7
5:10pm – 5:35pm
