Andover, MA, May 15, 2025 – Vicor Corporation (Andover, MA) announced that Vicor K.K Japan (Headquarters: Shinagawa ward, Tokyo) will hold an online power system design seminar co-hosted by Macnica and Vicor at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27th.

The two-part seminar will address the best practices of power system design. Part one will be a basic course on the design of modular DC-DC systems addressing the loads required to achieve the target functions and performance, and how best to design a power delivery network (PDN) from a power source. This is recommended for beginners who want to learn the basics of power system design, or those who wish to refresh their knowledge.

The second part will explain the benefits of designing powering systems using 48V and will introduce how to convert 48V to 12V with non-isolated DC-DC high-density power modules.  Using the newly released Vicor DCM3717 and DCM3735* DC-DC converters with a maximum output of 2kW, as well as discussing examples of small applications, you will learn the benefits of modular power design.

We will also explain the benefits of using high-voltage, fixed-ratio bus converters (BCM series; 800V – 400V to 48V) and how they can be in PDNs, offering application examples including charging and discharging of batteries.
