Vicor high-performance 48V power solutions for industrial equipment, material handling systems, and collaborative robots

Presented by Koji Nishikawa, Senior Applications Engineer, Vicor K.K.

In industrial equipment, material handling systems, and collaborative robotics, adoption of 48V power architectures is accelerating to achieve higher efficiency and smaller system size.
This seminar will introduce high-performance power solutions leveraging Vicor’s broad range of 48V power technologies and explain approaches to optimizing the entire power delivery network (PDN) across a variety of applications.

Through application examples including logistics systems, AGVs, UAVs, transport robots, sorting robots, and contactless power supply systems (rail power supply), we will showcase how Vicor power modules enable higher efficiency and space-saving system designs.

Vicor high-performance power solutions for next-generation aircraft

Presented by Koji Nishikawa, Senior Applications Engineer, Vicor K.K.

In the aerospace and defense industry, increasing system performance demands are driving the need for power systems with even higher power density, greater reliability, and reduced size and weight.

This seminar will introduce Vicor’s high-performance power approaches for next-generation aircraft, focusing on 270V and 28V power solutions.

Using next-generation aircraft application examples, we will cover compliance with commercial aircraft power system standards, as well as system configurations incorporating high-performance filter products.

We will also explain how Vicor’s high-power-density, defense-standard-compliant power modules help improve system efficiency while reducing size and weight.

In addition, Vicor offers VPX-standard power units compliant with VITA and SOSA specifications, which will also be introduced during the seminar.

Vicor high-performance HV – 48V and 48V – 12V power solutions for automotive and mobility applications

Presented by Tetsuo Haoka, Principal Field Applications Engineer, Vicor K.K.

This seminar introduces design approaches for compact and lightweight power units that enable higher value-added vehicle systems by leveraging Vicor’s high power density and high efficiency power solutions.

The seminar will cover two main topics:

The first topic focuses on enhancing vehicle functionality through 48V high-power actuators. Vicor’s BCM, which is compact, lightweight, and effectively functions as a 48V battery, eliminates the need for a large 48V battery and makes the implementation of 48V actuators more practical.

The second topic introduces design approaches for compact and lightweight power units using Vicor’s high power-density, high-efficiency power solutions. Two prototype automotive DC-DC converter units jointly developed with a domestic automotive parts manufacturer — a 400V-800V converter and a 400V-12V converter — will be presented. The seminar will provide detailed explanations ranging from circuit configuration to mechanical structure.
