Moving AC-DC rectification and battery backup from data center racks to a central location, using 400V power distribution in data centers, and utilizing Vicor BCM power modules’ compact 400 to 48V conversion within the rack can increase the number of processors in each rack by fourfold.
Vicor BCM power modules enable 800V and 400V batteries to supply 48V power delivery networks. Their fast transient response allows for the elimination of the intermediate 12 or 28V battery, reducing considerable weight and space consumption within an EV.
