Building a smarter ultra-wide DC-DC converter solution with multiple parts
One-size-fits-all typically simplifies situations. However, this approach does not deliver the best results when selecting an ultra-wide DC-DC power supply
The Vicor lower-power DCM2322 is an isolated and regulated DC-DC converter that operates from an unregulated, wide-range input to generate an isolated 12VDC output. The unit can produce up to 60W, or 5A of continuous current, with a maximum efficiency of 89.7%. Its high-frequency, zero-voltage switching topology allows for a low-profile design with high-density filtering. Two modes of operation are possible: the 60W standalone mode and the array mode, which permits up to eight combined units for producing a total 480W. Offered in a 2322 through-hole ChiP package, this product offers flexible thermal management options with very low top-side and bottom-side thermal impedance.
